La Festa Primavera 2021

Report

【Day4 & Awarding Ceremony】19 Apr 2021

Mr. and Mrs. Komiya Win Their First Title Ever

It was a clear morning on the final day and the bright blue sky stretched out. This spring journey ends
today. Most importantly of all, the entrants needed to complete the whole distance safely to the finish
line, competitions were also important, of course.

The entrants set off from in front of the hotel entrance at 7am and the final PC competition was held in
the parking lot on the hotel grounds. Like it or not, the results might decide the final rankings, so the
entrants were already fired up. They competed eight consecutive PC competitions, concentrating hard
on it. Seeing them, I could tell they were giving this competition everything they had.

After finishing the competition, the entrants left the hotel and drove through Hyogo Prefecture, passing
through Kamikawa Town Hall, Yamajiro no Sato, Toyooka City Izushi Branch and the Japan Mongolia
Folk Museum. They drove into Kyoto Prefecture and enjoyed a pleasant drive under the endless blue
sky.

In Kyoto, the entrants received a stamp at the Miyazu municipal Amanohashidate parking lot with a view
of the Sea of Japan, then drove along the coast to HOTEL & RESORTS KYOTO MIYAZU for lunch. The
calm surface of the sea was glittering in the sun and it was so dazzling.

The entrants left HOTEL & RESORTS KYOTO MIYAZU and headed to the finish line in Kayabuki no
Sato Miyama in Nantan City. The finish ceremony at Okazaki Park located in front of Heian Jingu Shrine
was originally scheduled, but in light of the spread of COVID-19, it was canceled and the finish line was
changed to Kayabuki no Sato.

The entrants completed approximately 1,260km and crossed the finish line with a beaming face even
though they ended up finishing this year's rally in a different situation from previous years. The cars
blending into the beautiful lush green mountains surrounded by the gentle sunshine in the afternoon
looked somehow proud.

The entrants passed through Kyoto City and as soon as they arrived at the hotel, they got dressed in a
hurry to go to the farewell party. Since the stricter COVID-19 measures have been implemented, the
party venue closes 8pm. The seats were placed apart from each other and an acrylic board was also
installed between the seats. The attendees enjoyed the dinner quietly, and the awards ceremony started.

This year's winner went to the No. 31 of Mr. and Mrs. Komiya. It was a great come-from-behind win and
their first La Festa Primavera title ever. They have participated in all of La Festa Primavera since 2015
and finally won the title for the first time, and the attendees gave them a round of warm applause.

The top three teams stayed in first to third place throughout the four days and no other team could catch
up to them. Those three dominated every competition and showed their strength during four days.

We finished all the program by 8pm and the La Festa Primavera 2021 came to an end. Although all
possible measures to prevent COVID-19 were taken during the event, we were a little worried about
whether we would be welcomed by local people. However, there was someone who was waiting for us
everywhere we went and warmly welcomed us. Seeing them, we were really touched. We would be
really happy if our event could make someone smile. We hope La Festa Primavera will be held next year
and everyone could really enjoy it without any worries.
